John Deere Asia’s authorized dealer for Japan, Yanmar attended the International Agricultural Machinery Show (IAMS) 2023. The show was held at the Kita Aikoku Plaza, an open space owned by the City of Obihiro, Hokkaido from July 6 to 10, 2023.
The IAMS is the largest and most important exhibition in the agricultural machinery in Japan, serving as a crossroads for manufacturers, dealers, and customers around the world. It is held every 4 years to exhibit state of the art agricultural machinery and the related technologies of the time.
This year, it was its 35th edition, which was supposed to be held in 2022. But it was postponed to 2023, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the 34th edition held in July 2018, 134 companies and organizations participated as exhibitors, and the number of visitors from Japan and overseas reached 201,000 over the 5-day event.
Founded in Osaka, Japan in 1912, Yanmar itself is a renowned brand name for diesel engine, heavy machinery, and agricultural equipment. Yanmar built the compact tractors for John Deere and became John Deere’s authorized agricultural machinery dealer for Japan in May 1972.
The partnership that has lasted for over 50 years is still going strong. Currently, both companies work together to provide best quality products that can balance between efficiency and environmental impact so that farming can be more sustainable than ever before, and customers can prosper to the full extent.
At the 35th International Agricultural Machinery Show in Obihiro, along with their own branded products, Yanmar displayed popular John Deere products such as 7R350 Tractor, 5115M Tractor, S770 Combine, R4150i Sprayer, and advanced precision ag solutions. Visitors were able to understand about the products by viewing and examining these machines on site.
