The 3-Way Partnership
Vinamilk is the largest dairy company in Vietnam. In attempting to expand their dairy farm operations, they found a prime location in Laos and established a new dairy farm called, Lao-Jagro Development (LJDC).
Efficient farm operations rely a lot on large scale land management and mechanized systems to support herd management and all-year feeding. But the LJDC farm set-up was carried out over the recent pandemic years and another challenge was that there was no John Deere dealership presence in Laos.
To secure a strong portfolio of small and large tractors, forage harvesters and supporting technology that is well-placed to grow business rapidly, LJDC closely worked with John Deere Asia, and Thành Thành Công Biên Hòa (TTC AgriS), John Deere’s distributor in Vietnam.
The Fleet of 26 Machines and Service Support
During the period of 2019 throughout 2021, the 3 parties worked hard to establish an efficient farm operational structure and coordinated the delivery of many tractors and a self-propelled forage harvester (SPFH), as well as AutoTrac technology, from John Deere’s 3 different factories across the globe. In the final stages, the team successfully brought a combined twenty-six machines fleet and service support plan over land and across borders between Vietnam and Laos.
John Deere Asia invited and deployed global experts around the globe and across platforms to deliver the right knowledge and skills to make both distributor and LJDC staff in Laos well-versed in the machine structure and maintenance process. TTC AgriS also appointed a senior technical expert to remain on site, and brought in a consignment of critical parts, ready on site to dispatch to ensure continual operations of machines on field.

LJDC’s Feedback and John Deere’s Commitment
Today, LJDC is operational with over 24,000 cow heads and over 58,000 ha of corn fields to produce corn silage. John Deere Asia team has regularly reviewed the fleet and service performance for smooth operations during the past year. Vinamilk and LJDC have provided positive feedback on increased operational efficiencies from precision farming particularly from AutoTrac, and approved the quality silage from SPFH, leading to high milk productivity.
This great collaboration among multi-parties shows how John Deere is committed to ensuring customer’s success, reflecting John Deere’s ‘Customer Value First’ credentials.
